Troulos beach and Troulos village are located at bus stop 18. They both took their names from the tiny island "Troulonisi", about 350m. from the shore, a hemispherical rock. After all, Troulos in Greek is the hemispherical church roof. Several adventurous swimmers tend to swim to the rocky edge of that small island winning the admiration of other holidaymakers.
Troulos' sandy beach is one of the most popular beaches of Skiathos Island. Hotels, guesthouses and taverns are just a few steps from the sea. Plenty of sun charis and umbrellas for those who prefer to relax on vacation, while the watersports school promises summertime action and alot of fun.
Troulos settlement is fully autonomous and organized, with many shops and bars for intense night-life. Holidaymakers staying in Troulos rarely descend to the town of Skiathos, since there may find that they want. For some unknown reason, the area attracts very many British tourists who often dominate, making Troulos village look like a small seaside village of England.
